Bright Future: next course, 5 continents, economic trends

Dear <subscriber>,

This issue of CI News includes:

  • your invitation to the September Bright Future Now course
  • updates on the growing Bright Future Network
  • a shout-out to one of the best blogs for economic trends

Next Bright Future Now course starts Sept 24

Bright Future Now is our 6-week online interactive experiential learning program that provides practical tools and transformative experiences that address core human issues – from depth psychology to system mapping; for the mind, the heart and the body; in yourself, in groups and in the world – all in the context of a deep systems understanding of the worldwide transformation we are living through.

It’s at the heart of our strategy for helping the transition to the Planetary Era go as gracefully and quickly as possible.

The next course begins September 24 and ends November 5.

Registration ends on September 10th and each cohort is limited to 21 people. I encourage you to register soon to guarantee your place.

The $400 registration fee provides you with both the course and a lifetime membership in the Bright Future Network. There’s a money-back guarantee – you can get a full refund through the third week of the course – so your risk is minimal.

If you have any questions about the course, just reply to this email and I’ll be happy to respond.

Bright Future Network

The course is just the start. When you complete it, you become part of the Bright Future Network, an ongoing home for graduates to connect, collaborate, co-create and celebrate as we journey together still further into the Planetary Era. Not only is it easy to keep the connections you make in the course, you get to add lots more connections with graduates from other course cohorts.

The network is still in its very early stages but already we have people from Australia, Scotland, Senegal, France, Norway, Spain, India, Canada and the US. They bring backgrounds in business, community, government, education, renewable energy, the arts, parenting and technology. It’s getting pretty interesting!

A clear-eyed look at the economy

Finally, I’d like to start using CI News to share some of the more interesting resources I come across, like I did last time with Guy Dauncey’s presentation on A Better World Is Possible.

This time I’d like to point you to one of the best blogs I know for understanding the US economy: www.calculatedriskblog.com by Bill McBride. I’m hardly alone in my appreciation. It regularly appears on “top 10” lists and has fans like Paul Krugman. I appreciate the way McBride stays grounded in the data, has no particular ideological ax to grind, and makes regular use of graphs that put the current situation in the context of decades worth of history. His daily posts may be too detailed for the non-specialist (although he writes in a very accessible way) but take a look at The Future is still Bright! to get a sense of how he deals with the big picture. His perspective is shorter-term and more conventional than mine but I still his material very helpful.

I hope this finds you stepping into your own bright future.

With appreciation,
Robert Gilman
